I could smell urine, feel coal dust on my body and smell the alcohol on his father’s breath. My nose even curled at the thought of walking down a street splattered with filth of human waste with holes in my shoes. I have never eaten so much while reading a book because his descriptions of his hunger as a child made me feel physical hunger along with him. This is a very sad......
